At Historic U.S.-Vietnam Trade Mission, AACSB Champions Education as Catalyst for Economic Growth
Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Membership Officer of AACSB International, represents business education in the 2025 US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) Business Mission to Vietnam. Representing the world’s largest business education alliance, Perry joined a record-setting delegation of senior executives from 58 leading U.S. companies, underscoring AACSB’s commitment to shaping the future of business education and strengthening global economic ties.
During the council, Perry engaged in bilateral discussions with senior Vietnamese government leaders, including Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc of the Ministry of Education and Training. These conversations focused on the evolving role of higher education in a rapidly changing global economy, including how universities can align more closely with industry needs and prepare graduates for a future shaped by technological innovation and digital transformation.
“In a world being reshaped by AI, automation, and global interconnectivity, higher education must evolve to remain relevant and impactful,” said Perry. “AACSB is proud to be part of this dialogue in Vietnam—supporting business schools and government leaders as they explore new ways to enhance the quality, accessibility, and strategic value of education.”
Perry also participated in private sessions with global industry leaders, where he highlighted AACSB’s thought leadership on talent development, future employability, and the importance of cross-sector collaboration between academia and business. These conversations emphasized the need for lifelong learning and the critical role business schools play in equipping future leaders with ethical, agile, and globally-minded skills.
"As we look toward growing our global footprint, AACSB remains committed to fostering innovation and excellence in business education across Southeast Asia and beyond,” Perry added.
AACSB International joined a distinguished list of mission participants, including Amazon, Boeing, Coca-Cola, Intel, Mastercard, Meta, and Visa. Perry’s presence at the mission reaffirms AACSB’s role as a vital connector between business, government, and academia in advancing global prosperity through education.
