Lifelong Learning and University-Based Business Schools
A new study by AACSB, IEDP, and UNICON uncovers the strengths and opportunities facing executive education in an evolving lifelong learning landscape.
AACSB, IEDP, and UNICON engaged in a cross-sector exploratory study to better understand the role business schools play in an evolving lifelong learning landscape, particularly through executive education. In addition to a wide research sweep, in-depth interviews were conducted with leaders representing the supply and demand sides of executive education, resulting in a SWOT analysis for each side and key takeaways positioned for corporate, business school, and executive education decision-makers.
Explore the different phases of the study:
- The Executive Summary reveals the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats facing business schools and organizations in a changing lifelong learning landscape. It offers takeaways for how business schools, corporate partners, and executive education units can work more closely together to meet talent development goals.
- The SWOT Analysis Report contains extensive quantitative and qualitative research, including perspectives and insights shared through the in-depth interviews with business and business school leaders that informed the SWOT analysis.
- The Innovation Roadmap draws on insights from the SWOT research analysis and from UNICON's summer workshop. From these findings, AACSB, UNICON, and IEDP created a roadmap of next steps and best practices to guide innovation efforts around lifelong learning in executive education.
