AACSB and CAHME have entered a cooperative agreement to enhance quality business education.

Tampa, FL, USA (July 1 2021) - AACSB International (AACSB) and the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME) have entered a cooperative agreement to enhance quality business education. Through the agreement, both organizations intend to share expertise, explore synergies, and combine efforts to streamline and advance the value of accreditation, beginning in the United States and eventually expanding globally.

For over 100 years, AACSB accreditation has represented the highest standard of quality in business education in the world. As the longest-serving and largest business education network, AACSB connects lifelong learners, educators, and businesses worldwide. Today, a total of 901 institutions across 58 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business. Furthermore, 189 institutions maintain supplemental AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.

Since 1968, CAHME’s standards and criteria have been the benchmark for programs in healthcare management. In the past five years, the commission has seen 53 percent growth in accredited programs, established an accreditation process for healthcare quality and safety, and instituted a global accreditation process. CAHME, well known for its connectiveness to the healthcare industry, has a strong academic-practitioner partnership at the core of its accreditation process.

“AACSB is honored and excited to enter this agreement with the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education,” said Stephanie Bryant, AACSB’s chief accreditation officer. “CAHME’s vast experience with healthcare management programs will broaden our opportunities for growth and further streamline the accreditation process for business schools in the United States and, in time, globally. AACSB believes business schools are a force for good, and this agreement will help business schools make a positive impact in their communities, and beyond.”

“CAHME’s partnership with AACSB will have a significant impact on advancing the quality of healthcare management education,” stated Anthony Stanowski, CAHME president and CEO. “AACSB’s global presence, widespread reputation, and focus on systematic assessment and continuous quality improvement are consistent with CAHME’s culture. We believe that this partnership will help facilitate the accreditation process for programs in healthcare management and ensure that the future leaders of healthcare are well prepared.”

The agreement is in effect for five years, with an opportunity for renewal at the end of the period.
