AACSB and Korean Group Announce Agreement
Tampa, FL, USA (February 18, 2021)—The Korean Association of Business Education Accreditation (KABEA) and AACSB International (AACSB) have entered a cooperative agreement to enhance quality business education in Korea. Through the agreement, both organizations intend to explore synergies, share expertise, and combine efforts to advance the value of accreditation in Korea.
For over 100 years, AACSB accreditation has represented the highest standard of quality in business education in the world. As the longest-serving and largest business education network, AACSB connects lifelong learners, educators, and businesses worldwide. Today, a total of 882 institutions across 57 countries and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business. Furthermore, 189 institutions maintain supplemental AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.
“We are excited to begin this agreement with KABEA as we support the continued efforts and enhancements of business education in Korea,” said Geoff Perry, AACSB’s executive vice president and chief officer of Asia Pacific. “Their commitment to elevate the quality of higher education complements AACSB’s belief in the positive impact of business education on every community and industry.”
“We are highly pleased to conclude a cooperative agreement with AACSB, the global association for business education accreditation, to enhance business education especially in the midst of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Young-Ryeol Park, president of KABEA.
Additionally, he revealed his expectation for the collaborative efforts AACSB and KABEA will make, saying that “in the era of 'next normal,' both global and local institutions such as AACSB and KABEA, respectively, are to fulfill their role and responsibility for business education accreditation and innovation under the common mission for a better world.”
KABEA ensures the quality of business education by communicating and improving the value of accreditation to business schools and the broader business community in Korea. The agreement is in effect for three years, with an opportunity for renewal at the end of the period.
