Regional Forums

With your Global Diversity and Inclusion Conference registration, you will be automatically registered to subsequent virtual forums in February and March 2022. These forums will extend valuable conversations from the December conference and provide a space for sharing and gaining insights on initiatives, best practices, and experiences specific to the region. Presenters will lead discussions on socioeconomic access, political diversity, cross-generational workforces, inclusive curriculum and more.

Discover topics and tools that are making a difference and generating important conversations in the Europe, Asia Pacific, Africa, and Americas regions. Session recordings and presentation materials from the regional forums will be available to all conference attendees through June 1, 2022.

Welcome and Keynote I: Student Mobility and Immigration

This session will discuss how, despite the challenges of COVID19, schools were successful designing opportunities for student mobility experience, increasing multicultural learning and developing intercultural competences.

With four generations making up today’s workforce, managing collaboration and productivity challenges can be difficult. This session will explore how organizations with cross generational teams can build a culture of efficiency and understanding.

(A1) Gender Diversity/Supporting Female Faculty
COVID19 exacerbated existing barriers to female career advancement, amplifying economic and social burdens for women as household responsibilities, child and eldercare, challenges of limited physical space and more disproportionately affected female professionals. This session will explore how schools are strategically supporting female faculty career advancement and ensuring gender diversity success.

(A2) Tribalism, Globalization, and Managing Identity

This session will discuss defining DEIB challenges specific to the Africa region, including contextualizing curriculum and learning. Speakers will share their experiences moving away from a western lens and illustrating the value of Eastern education.

General Session: Socioeconomic Access and Diversity
10:15 a.m. - 11:15 a.m. 
This session will share how organizations, especially those with diverse stakeholders, can provide equitable access and social mobility. Presenters will discuss strategies to reduce economic and social barriers that exist in the region and share ideas for engaging your underrepresented populations.

General Session: Cross Generational Workforces
11:30 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. 
Today’s workforce encompasses four generations, causing collaboration and productivity challenges. This session will explore how organizations can overcome cultural and communication issues to build a culture of efficiency and understanding.

This session will expand the December conference’s discussion around political extremism on campus and in the workplace. Presenters will discuss examples specific to the Americas region, including ideas for managing dialogue on campus and best practices for diplomatically and delicately managing conflict with suitability and understanding.
