Recent AACSB data shows some trends in priorities, program modalities, and enrollment occurring at business schools globally.
  • For 2021–22, 798 schools representing 62 countries participated in AACSB's Business School Questionnaire Programs Module, with 62 percent from the Americas, 23 percent from EMEA, and 15 percent from Asia Pacific.
  • Most schools continue to offer face-to-face delivery across degree program levels, followed by schools offering programs in a blended/hybrid* format.
  • Compared to last year, more programs are being offered exclusively online (undergraduate, master's specialist, and master’s generalist/MBA levels) or in a multimodal** format (master’s generalist/MBA and doctoral levels).

* Blended/hybrid denotes a degree program that requires the student to take both courses that are face-to-face and courses that are delivered online, such that students must attend courses that may be a combination of both online and face-to-face delivery, online only, and face-to-face only.

** Multimodal denotes a degree program that can be completed in full using a combination of either face-to-face or online courses, where all required courses are available via both delivery modes and students can choose the method of delivery for each of their courses and could possibly be in both distance and face-to-face courses during the same semester (e.g., time frame).
