Accounting Accreditation Seminar (Americas)
This virtual seminar will take place each day 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time
Less than 25 percent of AACSB-accredited schools have supplemental accounting accreditation. Join a cohort of your peers in two live lessons facilitated by globally recognized accounting accreditation experts. Network and build skills virtually in this interactive seminar.
Explore the accounting accreditation process with this in-depth overview presented by facilitators with years of experience as AACSB peer reviewers and accreditation committee members. The seminar will cover the 2018 accounting accreditation standards, including requirements such as criteria for faculty qualifications and assurance of learning (AoL).
The seinar will also introduce the 2020 business accreditation standards. After you have an understanding of the standards, you will learn about the initial and continuous improvement review (CIR) process; the key committees, such as the Accounting Accreditation Committee (AAC) and the Continuous Improvement Review Committee (CIRC); and peer review team involvement.
Go through sections of the standards for hands-on experience focusing on three main areas: Strategic Management and Innovation; Learning and Teaching; and Academic and Professional Engagement and Interactions. By the end of the seminar, you will be confident about what is necessary for a successful AACSB accounting accreditation peer team visit and will have a peer network for future support. Those interested in seeking initial supplemental accreditation will be introduced to the process.

Facilitators
Frank Buckless, North Carolina State University
Frank Buckless became the Stephen P. Zelnak Jr. Dean of the Poole College of Management at NC State University on July 1, 2019. Under his 18 year leadership of the Department of Accounting, the undergraduate and graduate accounting programs experienced significant growth and recognition, and the department received initial accreditation from the AACSB. During that time, the department also generated support for impactful academic research –– engaging with organizations such as the Bank of America Foundation to support the Enterprise Risk Management Initiative, and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to support product and technology commercialization. A member of the NC State accounting faculty since 1989, Buckless received his doctorate in accounting from Michigan State University. He brought valuable corporate experience to Poole College from his tenure as auditor with Arthur Andersen and Company and is often invited to educate and train auditing professionals.

Delivery
Gain actionable insights in two, three-hour live lessons with a cohort of your peers and facilitators. Pre- and post-work will allow you to maximize your time in the classroom. This course will be delivered via AACSB's Brightspace learning platform and Zoom. You will have access to the materials and recordings for 90 days from the seminar date.
