This seminar will begin at 9:00 a.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m.

Business schools globally continue to advance societal impact initiatives through their missions, curriculum, intellectual contributions, and new innovative activities. Through the AACSB standards, your school is empowered to make decisions that will have the greatest impact on your communities in areas from sustainability to social justice.

But how can you effectively communicate your activities in societal impact in your strategic plan, accreditation reports and tables, and in external communications to your stakeholders?

Join us for a highly interactive one-day seminar on how your school can fulfill the requirements of AACSB’s 2020 business accreditation standards in the area of societal impact.

In an engaging, facilitated discussion, identify each AACSB accreditation standard that incorporates societal impact and engage in activities that will help you select a focus area and generate ideas for measuring impact.

Effectively demonstrate your commitment to societal impact that go beyond the measurement methods and metrics we typically associate with accreditation.

Learning Objectives

  • Identify the relevant AACSB Accreditation Standards that incorporate societal impact

  • Generate ideas on how to integrate societal impact into your strategic plan, micro-plans, resource deployment, and goals

  • Gain best practice examples from peer schools globally that are engaged in advanced societal impact activities

  • Connect with business education administrators who recognize the value of societal impact and how it will transform business education

After three decades of experience in higher education and holding senior leadership positions at universities in New Zealand as well as the UK, Hilton recently retired from full time roles to develop an interim and project-based portfolio.  As Dean, Hilton led five Business Schools in three countries with different HE structures, three of which included responsibility for the law discipline. In her final role she led the school to successful AACSB accreditation. As an AACSB volunteer, Hilton  designed the ‘New Dean’s Seminar’ and convened the UK and Ireland Dean’s Network. Hilton's HE experience was in large, city-based, modern universities with an emphasis on widening participation, student experience and employability through practice-based education, industry engagement and applied research. She also has experience in the private sector through leadership and governance roles at Regent’s University, London and BPP University. Hilton worked in business for ten years in US and UK based ‘blue chip’ companies before becoming an academic.
