This virtual seminar will take place each day 1:00 – 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time

Join a cohort of peers in virtual learning facilitated by globally recognized Continuous Improvement Review (CIR) experts. Build skills and network in an interactive event focused on understanding the CIR process, documentation, and application, including tables. Learn how to undergo a successful continuous improvement review visit through group interactions, breakout sessions, and targeted discussions.

Designed for accredited schools, the Continuous Improvement Review (CIR) Seminar will prepare your administrators for the CIR process from the first year of the cycle to the CIR visit. AACSB recommends that you attend this seminar two years before a scheduled visit.

Engage in interactive discussions on the foundation of accreditation and review the philosophy of the principles-based 2020 accreditation standards with your peers, giving particular focus to changes in the standards. Explore the CIR philosophy and each component of the CIR report from the lens of your school, and examine how your school’s strategies and outcomes relate to engagement, innovation, and impact.

Learn about the expectations of the key accreditation committees and the peer review team to better understand their purpose and how they fit into your CIR process.

Build your peer network while developing the best strategy for your school’s upcoming continuous improvement review.

Facilitator

Deborah CrownDeborah Crown, Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, Pepperdine University

In November 2022 Deborah Crown began her Pepperdine career as the 10th dean of the Graziadio Business School. Crown came to Pepperdine with nearly two decades of academic leadership experience, most recently serving as professor of management and dean of the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. During her tenure at Crummer, it was ranked the number one MBA in Florida by Forbes magazine and number one in the country for leadership for four years in a row by HR.com. Previously Crown served as the dean of the College of Business at Hawai'i Pacific University, the largest private University in Hawai'i, where she led the development and implementation of the college's strategic plan and spearheaded the transition to a comprehensive, student-centered facility. She also served as associate dean and endowed professor at San José State University. Crown's career in education began at the University of Alabama, where she was the Miles-Rose Professor of Leadership and PhD coordinator for management. Crown's work has been featured in national press publications such as the Wall Street Journal, CNN, ABC National News, the New York Times, USA Weekend, and Entrepreneur, as well as academic journals and books. She is also the recipient of a number of national awards for her research, as well as university and college awards for her teaching, mentoring, and service. She earned a bachelor of science in psychology from North Central College, a master of science in business administration from the University of Colorado at Denver, and a PhD from the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Delivery

Gain actionable insights in two, 3.5-hour live lessons with a cohort of your peers and facilitators. Pre-and post-work will allow you to maximize your time in the classroom. This course will be delivered via AACSB's Learning Portal and Zoom. You will have access to the event for 90 days from the seminar date.
