Keynote I: Business School Sustainability Initiatives
Jan Beyne, Antwerp Management School
Dr. Jan Beyne is the Sustainable Transformation Competence Center Lead at Antwerp Management School. As an assistant Professor, Jan has led several research projects on sustainability and is lead lecturer in the Sustainable Transformation Masterclasses. His domain of expertise an Phd research focuses on integrating sustainability in an organizational context (e.g. SDGs, leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic sustainability management). The combination of business and academia enables Jan to translate scientific knowledge into hands-on insights and workable solutions. Jan is co-author of the book 'The pathway to sustainable business', nominated as management book of the year 2022. He is therefore a much sought-after speaker for organizations on these themes.

Alex Hiller, Nottingham Business School
Dr Alex Hiller is Head of Postgraduate and Executive Education at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University in the UK, with responsibility for the strategic development and operational management of the full portfolio of taught postgraduate and executive education programmes. This includes responsibility for portfolio and curriculum development and delivery, student experience, student recruitment, market positioning and external/alumni engagement. He is a member of the School Executive Team and the Chair of the Postgraduate Board of Examiners. Alex has a wealth of experience of programme validations as a panel member and Chair, and external examining experience nationally and internationally. He is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute.
Alex has over 20 years’ teaching and curriculum design and development experience across all levels, with main teaching interests in marketing ethics and consumer behaviour. His research, in which he has published in the Journal of Business Ethics, the Journal of Marketing Management and Studies in Higher Education amongst others, focuses on ethical consumption, experiential pedagogy and student engagement. His latest book, Ethical Consumption: A Research Overview, was published by Routledge earlier in the year.
Washika Saheem, University of Dubai
Washika Haak-Saheem holds a PhD in International Business Management from Leuphana University in Lüneburg/Germany. Her research on international HRM, knowledge management, expatriation appeared in journals such as Human Resource Management Journal, European Management Review, International Journal of Human Resource Management or International Journal of Cross-Cultural Management. Her research focuses on the intersection between global migration and international business management, refugee workforce integration and expatriates’ voice. Washika’s research on low-status expatriates was awarded the EURAM Grant in 2019.
