We develop adept professionals engaged with their communities through a curriculum emphasizing faith and learning integration, critical thinking, communication, and global awareness. Objectives supporting the WSB Mission Statement The Whitworth School of Business fosters and maintains a learning environment that emphasizes the following elements:  the integration of Christian faith and learning including the reflective lens of ethical principles in business,  critical thinking and application of theory/knowledge of essential business and economic concepts  content emphasizing effective written and oral communication skills that help students/graduates function professionally and responsibly, and  forming knowledgeable students in the complexities of global markets. To accomplish this purpose, the Whitworth School of Business  recruits and retains diverse faculty and staff committed to Christian principles (the WSB believes that teaching excellence, research, and practical experience are essential dimensions of the learning experience and education process) and  conducts research and other professional engagement to inform our teaching that is of interest to scholars, students, and/or organizations.

The Whitworth School of Business boasts faculty members who combine strong academic credentials with extensive practical experience and a focus on the increasing globalization of markets. In keeping with Whitworth's mission, the department's faculty and curriculum reflect a strong emphasis on values and ethics within a rigorous academic program. The department also maintains close connections with business and professional communities in the U.S. and abroad to provide a variety of internship, mentoring and service-learning opportunities to help students prepare for meaningful and successful careers.

As a student, you will:

  • Work closely with faculty-mentors who can help you gain valuable experience through competitive internships, consulting projects and service-learning.
  • Develop friendships and leadership skills (and set yourself up for financial success) by participating in clubs such as the Business Club, Whitworth Student Investment Group, Social Finance Club, and Balance Your Bucs.
  • Be prepared for jobs in the U.S. and abroad by learning international business concepts and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Connect with Whitworth alums on our organized business treks, visiting dozens of major Pacific Northwest companies every year
  • Participate in mock interviews with members of the local business community to prepare you for landing your first job.
  • Connect your faith or worldview to your coursework by considering ethical issues, including stewardship of resources, the biblical view of money, and the study of poverty and social issues.
  • Study abroad in Asia or Central America with Whitworth business professors, or take part in an exchange program with our partner schools in Europe.
