SUNY Oneonta's Department of Business traces its beginnings back to 1970, when the Economics Department began to offer a business program. Today, the Business Department houses programs in accounting, finance, management, marketing, green supply chain, and information systems. Two majors are available for students in Business Administration and Professional Accounting. Planning for additional majors is underway. Professional Accounting is currently a 150 semester-hour program, registered with the New York State Education Department and meeting the state’s CPA curriculum standards. Many successful alumni graduated with a major from one of our business programs. From corporate executives to accounting practitioners to nonprofit managers to academicians and more, they attest to the caliber of Oneonta’s academic preparation, applied learning opportunities, and career placement. Housed in a beautifully remodeled and recently reopened campus building, we invite everyone to become part of our learning environment that includes small classes, accessible faculty, teamwork, and simulations in technology-enhanced classrooms. Business faculty are highly qualified and ready to apply their blend of academic credentials and professional background to offer students a transformational college experience, shaped by the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education (PRME) framework and the Sustainable Development Goals.
