Lee Newman
Dean, IE Business School
Lee Newman is the dean of IE Business School at IE University in Madrid, where he is also a professor of behavioral science and leadership. Prior to this role, he was the founding dean of IE’s School of Human Science and Technology.
His teaching and research focus on behavioral fitness and positive leadership—applying behavioral science to help professionals optimize their performance in the workplace.
Before pursuing his academic career, Newman served as an associate and later as an engagement manager with McKinsey & Company in Chicago, and was a founder and senior manager in two technology startups in New York City.
Newman holds an interdisciplinary PhD from the University of Michigan in cognitive psychology and computer science, as well as a Certificate in Cognitive Neuroscience. He has MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management, a Master of Technology and Policy from MIT, and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, with honors and magna cum laude, from Brown University.
