Francisco Veloso
Dean, INSEAD
Francisco Veloso became the dean of INSEAD in September 2023. Previously, he was the dean of Imperial College Business School in London and, before that, the dean at Católica Lisbon School of Business & Economics. Veloso spent the formative years of his academic career at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Veloso's research focuses on high-tech innovation and entrepreneurship. He has several dozen publications in leading academic journals and has won several international awards for his academic work. He is also a dedicated educator and has supervised more than 10 PhD dissertations, five of which won international awards.
Veloso regularly works as a consultant and advisor to startups, established firms, universities, and governments around the world. He is currently a non-executive board member at Arica Holding and Movendo Capital b.v.
Veloso is an active contributor to AACSB, EFMD, and AMBA, and is currently on the global board of directors of AACSB.
Veloso has a PhD in technology, management, and policy from MIT, as well as an MSc in economics and management of science and technology and an undergraduate degree in physics engineering, both from the University of Lisbon.
