Summary

Fernando Gonzales is the founder and CEO of Bigmond™ Group, an executive search and talent consulting firm dedicated to creating a more humane world. Under Gonzales’ leadership, Bigmond Group became a Society of Benefit and Collective Interest and earned multiple recognitions in quality and sustainability. He collaborates with Enseña Perú, EXE Empresarios por la Educación, and D1 Dance—a transformative dance school.

Entrepreneurial Impact

After completing several post-graduate degrees, including an MBA from Centrum PUCP Business School, Gonzales worked for a Brazilian multinational. He decided to quit after observing discrimination in the corporate sector. From his observations, he concluded that discrimination manifests itself mainly in selection processes, where hiring decisions are often unfairly based on personal characteristics rather than talent.

This experience led Gonzales to create Bigmond Group, a Certified B Corporation that specializes in talent selection and consulting. Based in Lima, Peru, Bigmond serves well-known corporations in Latin America, Europe, and the United States. Over the last decade, the firm has focused on equal employment opportunities and expansion.

Gonzales stresses that the headhunting company has adopted ethical business practices and become an impactful organization. At Bigmond, talent selection for CEOs and other senior positions is carried out through a rigorous meritocratic process, free of bias. Bigmond impacts two areas: It improves company ethics and competitiveness and ensures that professionals compete on equal terms—as is their legal right.

In 2022, Bigmond achieved more than 3,000 professional placements, breaking barriers in inclusive hiring processes. Gonzales considers this figure significant because it reflects the completion of the same number of inclusive selection processes. Beyond challenging traditional hiring methods, Bigmond has created jobs for many people in the region and is expanding internationally.

Examples of Impact

Bigmond Group stands out for its focus on gender equity in the selection process. According to Bigmond Group’s 2021–2022 Sustainability Report, 40 percent of the candidate lists presented to companies included at least one woman, which promotes diversity and inclusion in the workplace. This effort not only improves female representation in leadership roles but also positively impacts the organizational culture of companies that hire through Bigmond.

Bigmond’s collaboration with Sistema B and Universidad Continental to launch the “B Companies: A Force for Good” program is a clear example of the company’s commitment to sustainability. Aligning economic objectives with social and environmental well-being, this program encourages responsible and sustainable business practices among Peruvian companies. Its implementation could increase corporate social responsibility and improve participating companies’ reputations.

The Aequales PAR Ranking recognized Bigmond Group as one of the leaders in gender equity in the consulting and research sector, positioning the B Corp among companies that promote diversity and gender policies. This recognition not only highlights the firm’s dedication to these principles but also sets a standard for other companies in the region and promotes a more inclusive business environment.

Bigmond Group has invested a percentage of its sales in social projects, reflecting its commitment to sustainable development and improving the living conditions of vulnerable populations. This approach not only creates a positive impact on the community but also strengthens the relationship between business and society, thus generating a positive feedback loop.

Bigmond Group has implemented various policies, such as those related to diversity and inclusion and to occupational health and safety. These tangible examples show how the company integrates equity into its business model. Through the Empresas Integradoras initiative, the company was recognized as a role model for other organizations in Peru.
